
National Advocacy
- With its key partners in the Global Alliance for Street Work, StreetInvest is engaging with governments to advocate for putting street-connected children and their rights onto the agenda. Currently, the Global Alliance is engaged with government bodies in:
- Ghana
- Sierra Leone
- Kenya
- West Bengal, India
The Street Champions Programme
StreetInvest is supporting its partner organisations in Kenya, India, and Ghana to run Street Champion programmes, which allow street-connected children to advocate for themselves.
The programme delivers training to the children, who nominate themselves, which equips them with facilitation, public speaking and leadership skills. The children on the programme are given formal opportunities to engage with local and even national governments, to promote their rights for themselves.
There are currently over 50 children enrolled across the three countries
